How I Got the Book: Review Copy
Summary of the Book:
Clara Stahlbaum has her future perfectly planned: to marry the handsome pianist, Johann Kahler (ah!) and settle down to a life full of music. But all that changes on Christmas Eve, when Clara receives a mysterious and magical nutcracker.
Whisked away to his world—an enchanted empire of beautiful palaces, fickle fairies, enormous rats, and a prince—Clara must face a magician who uses music as spells…and the future she thought she wanted.
The Enchanted Sonata, a retelling of The Nutcracker Ballet with a dash of The Pied Piper, will captivate readers of all ages.
My Personal Review: I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I requested a copy of this book because I love retelling of fairytales and forklore. I know the story of the Nutcracker well. I was excited to see what this tale would offer up to the class we all know and love. I enjoyed that that story stayed about Clara. Some of the retellings I have read tend to drift off a little bit from the story. I got the humor and the story that was being told. It was well done and it made me want to find out more about this author since the write was new to me.
My Rating of the Book: 4 1/2 Stars
