Summary of the Book:
A warlock hitman. A dangerously unstable psychic. And a powerful occult family who use vampires as pawns.
Walker is itching to get out of the dead-end town of Seabingen and relive his glory days when an old groupie from his rock-and-roll past dangles a golden opportunity. Assassinate the scion of an ancient house, and Walker will regain the power and status he deserves. But when Walker botches the black curse meant to kill his target, he has to finagle a second chance at murder.
Kit Melbourne hates to desert her baby and fly to New Jersey, but it’s her last chance to get closure with her estranged father. Her hopes for a quick trip are dashed when the prominent scion of the cabalistic dynasty extorts Kit to act as his agent. Her dangerous mission: go under cover into a secret lab and jailbreak the volatile psychic who’s imprisoned there.
When Walker’s hired to uncover the secret hand behind the assassination plot, the squeeze is on. He’s got just days left to carry out the hit and pin it on a plausible scapegoat or get iced himself. But his old enemy is also wrapped up in the mysterious society’s games, and sacrificing Kit Melbourne is just the boost he needs to eliminate his victims.
Can Kit resist the manipulations of powerful forces and fly home to her family again?
Warlock’s Blood is the eighth book in the enthralling Kit Melbourne urban fantasy series. If you like vampire politics, secret societies, and Machiavellian psychics, then you’ll love Kater Cheek’s action-packed thriller.
My Personal Review: I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. The more I read of this series the more I love the characters and their lives. It has pulled me ever deeper and I need to know. It seems that Kit is always put in what could be impossible situations. She is going to New Jersey to see her dying father that abandoned the family years before. She is on leave and has to take her children with her on this one. Knowing that had my heart racing. There is so much going on in this book and I just want to know more about who is behind it all.
My Rating of the Book: 4 1/2 Stars
